Noémi Parenteau-Comfort (nom d’artiste Noémi Madeleine), est une auteure-compositrice-interprète bilingue folk indépendante, originaire d’Ottawa. Elle a fait ses études d’abord en piano puis en basson classique à l’université d’Ottawa avec une mineure en voix. Ses études se poursuivent ensuite au Randolph College for the Performing Arts (jadis le Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts) à Toronto et elle se lance bientôt sur la scène torontoise de musique et théâtre. Suite à deux ans à Amman en Jordanie pour enseigner les arts de la scène, elle retourne à Toronto et se joint à quelques groupes musicaux dont Ambiance the band, qui fusionne jazz et chanson française d’Édith Piaf à Stromae. Son style est inspiré à la fois de la chanson française, du folk et du country ainsi que du lyrisme de ses racines en musique classique et comédie musicale. Sa musique qu’elle décrit comme folk lyrique s’inspire d’artistes comme Cœur de pirate, Juliette Armanet, Pomme, The Wooden Sky et Joni Mitchell.

Sa demande de subvention auprès du CAO fut acceptée pour son premier EP et ceci déclencha des collaborations auprès de plusieurs musiciens de renommée en Ontario francophone et anglophone. Notamment.Alex Millaire (Moonfruits), Kelly Lefaive (Georgian Bay), Majd Sukar, Ai Rei Dooh-Tousignant (Ink Sticks & Stones) et plusieurs autres. Elle performe solo depuis 2021 et depuis 2022 avec son groupe le Friendless crew à plusieurs salles et festivals à Toronto dont Francophonie en fête et TIFF. Elle a fait parution sur l’émission La Billetterie, sur Radio-Canada, soulignant les arts en Ontario français. 

En février 2024, est sorti le premier single, À deux de son EP folk indie Ces mots. Le EP Ces mots est sorti en mai 2024. Disponible sur Bandcamp!

Noémi Parenteau-Comfort (artist moniker Noémi Madeleine), is a franco-ontarian bilingual independant singer-songwriter, from Ottawa. She studied first the piano then classical bassoon at the University of Ottawa with a minor in classical voice. Her studies then continued at the  Randolph College for the Performing Arts (previously the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts) in Toronto and shortly thereafter jumped into its music and theater scene. After two years teaching in Amman, Jordan, she returns and joins a few bands such as Ambiance the band, which fused jazz and French chanson from Edith Piaf to Stromae. Her musical style is inspired by French chanson, folk, country and holds a lyrical quality inspired by classical music and musical comedy. Her music, which she describes as lyrical folk, is inspired by artists such as Coeur de Pirate, Juliette Armanet, Pomme, The Wooden Sky and Joni Mitchell.

Her grant application with the Ontario Arts Council was accepted for this her first EP which then supported many collaborations with important artists in Ontario, French and English speaking. Most notably, Majd Sukar, Alex Millaire (Moonfruits), Kelly Lefaive (Georgian Bay), Ai Rei Dooh-Tousignant (Ink Sticks & Stones) and many others. Since 2021 she performs solo and since 2022 with her band le Friendless crew, in venues and festivals around the GTA, including Francophonie en fête and TIFF. She has appeared on Radio-Canada’s tv show La Billetterie, a show about the Franco-Ontarian
art scene. 

In February 2024, her first single À deux, came out. The EP Ces mots was released in May 2024.
